Lima beans are a legume good for the metabolism, stabalizing blood sugar, cell division and DNA synthesis. These starchy beans are full of fiber, protein, carbohydrates and are avialable year-round. Note: They can contain high cianide levels, so we eat lima beans in moderation. Supposedly they can also be lethal if eaten raw (the poison escapes as a gas when cooked), so be careful.
