WILD CHANTERELLE MUSHROOMS
We learned chanterelle mushrooms are great for cooking with and pretty easy to find in the area. They tend to pop up from late spring to late summer and can be found near damp areas. Once we got the mushrooms home, we rinsed them off, cooked them in treat day butter and froze the remaining batch.
They are meaty, earthy and absolutely delicious. Chefs around the world cook with chanterelle mushrooms and consider them a gourmet item. They’re becoming so popular that they’re even starting to be carried at markets and some groceries. Keep an eye out for them and if you happen by some, give them a try!
