QUICHE TREAT DAY RECIPE

We’ve made quiche together since we met each other back in 2005, but these days we only eat things like butter or dairy products on treat days. Quiche is so worth the wait and leaves us filled and satisfied. The best part is, they are so easy to make. Enjoy our spinach tomato cheddar quiche treat day recipe below!

The Lills Food Cheddar Tomato Spinach Quiche Recipe

Quiche Treat Day Recipe:
  • Preheat oven to 375F
  • Line a round baking pan with the pie crust
  • Poke holes on bottom and along the sides with a fork
  • Bake for 6 minutes or until the shell begins very lightly brown and remove from the oven
  • Pie weights can help keep the center of the pie crust down during the pre-bake
  • Reduce the oven temperature to 350F
  • Place the shredded cheddar around the bottom of the hot pie crust
  • Sweat the onions with the butter and wilt the spinach lightly
  • Add wilted spinach, sweated onions, diced tomato (dry in towel before to reduce moisture) and sliced mushrooms
  • With the pan on the baking rack, pour the egg mixture into the crust with its ingredients until it reaches 1/4 – 1/2 inch below the crust
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes
  • Let cool for 10 minutes and serve warm

Quiche Egg Mixture Recipe:

  • Whisk eggs, cream, milk, salt, pepper, dill in a large bowl

Quiche Ingredients:

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon organic dried dill
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fine ground sea salt
  • 1 pastry crust shell
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup wilted spinach
  • 1 small diced tomato
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
