Tomatoes find themselves in our daily meals, we can’t get enough of ’em. The only problem is the average U.S. grocery store tomatoes are most commonly hit with heavy chemicals and pesticides, are picked green, put into methane tanks (to make them red) and are covered in layers of wax before hitting stands.

Rather than buying tomatoes from the store, this season we picked up organic plants from our local farmers market and began our own tomato garden. A variety of young tomatoes found a home in our beds. As they matured, little green tomatoes began popping up everywhere. We picked a beauty from the plant, slapped it on a cutting board, cut a few slices, hit them with pink Himalayan sea salt and ground pepper and mm mm mm!
