While sitting out in the sun one day, we snipped a few of our homegrown herbs and thought to dry them. We brought the leaves into the kitchen, put them on a cooking sheet and into the oven. Once dried, we softly crumbled the basil, parsley and sage leaves into an herb mix, perfect for cooking.

The Lills Food | Dried Herb Mix Home Recipe

Dried Herbs Recipe:

  • Snip some homegrown leaves from a hearty herb or two
  • Lightly blanch the herbs in a shallow dish of boiling water
  • Put the leaves on a cooking sheet or tin foil
  • Put in the oven at 170 for 1-2 hours (check on them occasionally)
  • Once the leaves are dry, crumble the leaves into a jar with a lid or container of choice (take out any stems)
  • Sprinkle the dried herbs on anything you please

Dried Herb Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup homegrown herbs
  • Cooking sheet or tin foil
  • 2 cups of water
  • A shallow dish
  • A glass jar with lid
  • An oven
